	UPDATE: unfortunately, I have been forced to increase my postage charges, owing to the closure of our local PO and the associated additional costs. (My nearest convenient PO is now a four-mile drive away, rather than a ten minute walk.) I will always combine postage charges, and will continue to keep them as low as possible. Review

Shing A Ling Time, baby! announces track five, and that's what is going on here. In spite of the fact that there was a bunch of records in the sixties inviting us to Do The Shing A Ling, I suspect there's hardly anybody out there today who can remember how.... (and, please - don't mail me to ask!) Compiler Tim Brown offers us no clues in his liner notes, so we'll just have to let the music speak for itself...

The good news is, uptempo tunes is the order of the day - this is NOT another collection of mid-tempo songs and Beat Ballads masquerading as Northern Soul. Apart from the slightly more sedate track 13, the tempo is all definitely 'up' with even a number of fast-and-frantic 100 mph stormers recalling the Good Old Days. The sound quality is a smidgin below-par on a couple of the tracks here, though the music is fine, and one or two of the tunes appear in genuine stereo versions. Even if you can't actually Do The Shing A Ling, it's a great set of goodies to bop around to!
