The Best of Neil Sedaka : 16 Rock'n'Roll hits 1959-1962

Neil Sedaka was probably an unlikely candidate for an early-sixties teen idol. A chubby-faced classically-trained pianist, he was far removed from the Elvis wannabees who proliferated in the late fifties. One factor singled him out, though - talent. Musically well accomplished, he first proved his worth as a songwriter, penning Stupid Cupid for Connie Francis, before achieving stardom in his own right.

This sixteen track collection presents a number of his own solo hits, including the immortal Oh Carol, written in tribute to a another young songwriter, Ms Carole Klein, who also went on to carve out a successful career, under the surname King! The music all stems from a much happier, more innocent time, and - as Neil's label, RCA were at the forefront of recording technology - the sound quaity is superb on these classic recordings, all of which appear in genuine stereo.
