UPDATE: unfortunately, I have been forced to increase my postage charges, owing to the closure of our local PO and the associated additional costs. (My nearest convenient PO is now a four-mile drive away, rather than a ten minute walk.) I will always combine postage charges, and will continue to keep them as low as possible. Since it now costs me up to £1.45 to post a CD, I don't think a P&P charge of £1.49 is asking too much, do you? :o)

Lindsay Moore's Untamed - It's All True
Rare 60s Hammond Freakbeat
Details 1999 release on Circle - guaranteed new & 100% Mint (sealed limited edition CD)
Review

Led by guitarist/songwriter Lindsay Muir, The Untamed recorded only five singles between 1964 and 1966, none of which were even minor hits, but are highly-prized today among Freakbeat collectors. Lindsay's group were a little unusual in that their sound relied upon Ray Jarvis' Hammond organ, instead of the customary electric guitars favoured by most Beat outfits of the time. Speaking of guitars, Jimmy Page, played on their original version of James Brown's I'll Be Crazy.

The Untamed's producer was Shel Talmy, of Who, Kinks, and Creation fame, and he signed the group to his short-lived Planet label. From that connection came their cover of It's Not True - from the Who's debut album - which appeared on an one of their 45s, and is track one of this CD, in a version from a 1966 BBC radio session.

Elsewhere we're treated to more BBC recordings (from the legendary Saturday Club), a tasty cover of Brenda Holloway's Every Little Bit Hurts, and a clutch of rare demos, all of which are Lindsay Muir originals. Beautifully packaged with a fully-illustrated inlay booklet, this excellent Circle CD is a fine souvenir of a forgotten band, who deserve to be remembered a little better than they are.
