Tree Peony – Blue
Lian Bao Shi
Tree peonies (Paeonia suffruiticosa) are actually shrubs, not trees; they produce woody stems and do not die back to the ground like herbaceous peonies. They are slow growing but long lived. Plants eventually grow to 3 to 5 feet tall.
We supply Bare root plants which should be planted throughout the Autumn and Winter and container grown plants for planting through Spring and Summer. Please note all prices quoted are for Top Grade bare root plants for immediate planting. Container grown plants available from March onwards are approximately 2 - 3 times the price of Bare Root depending on variety.
They flower best in a sunny site but blooms will last longer where dappled shade can be provided. The main other requirement is a well drained soil.
