This auction is for a gold *Very Rare* Masonic Orb which opens up into a cross....Although I cannot date it accurately I know this is from the late Victorian Times...On the back it reads *Made in England* and JH &S and on one of the arms is the makers Mark *JHW*..There are no dents or dings to this and the ball closes really firmly. This is definate for any collector..
The more modern ones are usually made of all gold but although this tests as gold there is no real hallmark. The ball opens up into a cross with masonic symbols on each pyramid. Usually these Victorian Orbs are gold on silver with the outer casing being gold and the masonic pyramids being silver....This is an extremely old item and in very good vintage condition but please bear in mind when bidding this is NOT new.
