Star Map is hand made in Devon (UK) in my own studio and is made from hand cut and etched stainless steel pieces that are welded together in a mild steel frame.
Iridescent rainbow coloured stars and disks are used to represent the positions of the stars in the sky above. Each of the pieces have been hand etched with a truly unique design or specially treated to produce these fantastic vibrant colours and have been placed accordingly to create this very aesthetically pleasing piece.
The colours of this artwork are really beautiful and sparkle with a natural jewel like quality, meaning that you don't need to apply any lacquers, enamels or paints to the artwork to achieve any colour enhancement. They have been created using a special process, utilising the hidden qualities, that the metal holds within.

Due to the nature of stainless steel, it is very difficult to photograph. This is because it has magical qualities and an amazing ability to transmit and reflect the light.
