Bidding & Buying Safely:
Following are a few guidelines before you bid or buy.
- Check if the seller is payment and telephone verified by looking
for the card and telephone verified icons by their username on their
listing page as well as their feedback page. Verification is a step
further in confirming a user's identity. As with all verification it is
only correct on the day the verification takes place. It is generally
accepted that a verified user is much more reliable than an unverified
user.
- If the seller has a seller gallery and has created 'About Me' pages,
have a look at them to learn more about the seller
- Ensure that the item listed is not illegal or disallowed on Tazbar. If
you believe a listing is offensive, illegal or in breach of Tazbar rules
and policies , report the listing via the 'Report item' button on every
listing page.
- Check the seller's feedback score to see how many items they have
traded on the site. You can view a user's overall feedback as well as
buying and selling feedback on the top right hand side of any of their
listings.
- Pay attention to the feedback comments left by other members about the
seller. To view comments click on the seller's username on the top right
of any of their listings.
- Check how long a seller has been a member of the Tazbar community. This
information is given in the seller's details section on their listing
page.
- Ensure that you have read and fully understand the description of the
item. Read the following carefully:
- If unsure about any of the above, ask the seller questions via the ASQ
facility on the listing page.If you overlook the description you might
miss some important points about the item.
- Ask the seller questions about the item eg. condition of used items,
compatibility with other equipment etc. if not specified in the
description.
- Compare the price of the item with that of similar items selling on
Tazbar. Be careful if the item if the 'Buy Now" price of the item is
significantly below the current retail price of the item. Use the old
rule of logic, i.e 'if it seems too good to be true, it probably
is'.
- It is important that you check before you bid on or place an offer on
an item that you have the ability to pay by one of the payment options
displayed. The payment methods
guidelines may help you through your payment process more
smoothly.
- If you are interested in a high value item, exercise extra caution in
investigating the seller's reputation in the Tazbar community. Tazbar
encourages insuring high value items and arranging trackable delivery
- If buying from an overseas seller, contact the seller first to
ascertain international laws applicable to the item you wish to
purchase.
- If buying internationally it is a good idea to insure the item and
arrange for a trackable delivery
- We do not recommend the use of money transfer services like Escrow and
Western union as the likelihood of fraud is higher when using these
payment methods. If direct money transfer is the only method stated in the
listing , negotiate another payment method with the seller.
- If you are suspicious of a seller's activity or communication, contact
Tazbar Support at support@tazbar.net. Whenever you contact us, please
include the all the relevant details eg. usernames, advert ids, plus any
emails related to the issue you wish to discuss. Not including all
relevant details will affect response times.
- Negotiating a deal outside of Tazbar is against Tazbar rules &
policies and potentially dangerous. Engaging in off-site sales can result
in account suspension. Tazbar prohibits email offers to buy or sell
outside of Tazbar. To report a user offering to buy or sell items outside
Tazbar, use the report item button to report the listing and also report
the user to support via email forwarding any relevant email
communication.
- After the transaction, leave Feedback for the seller. For feedback
