Selling Internationally
One of the great benefits of the Internet is its global reach. Tazbar has
the ability to help you to show your items to an audience around the world.
In addition Tazbar also has international currency calculation. This means
that even though your item is shown to you in your local currency, those that
see it from other countries will have a calculation to other currencies such
as US Dollars Euro's etc..
When you place your listing you have the choice to include different world
zones in the postage section this will help buyers to understand the postage
costs involved.
You also have the option to block oversea's buyers in your Control Panel
> Blocked Members section. If you wish to sell to oversea's members please
ensure this option is unchecked.
Make Allowances
Please remember when trading with people from other countries there may be
communication issues to deal with. Often it pays to be patient with oversea's
bidders as they may be communicating from different time zones which can
cause delays. There may also be language barriers to overcome. Whilst online translation programmes are
not 100% accurate they can often help, if you choose to use this facility
Tazbar can not guarantee its accuracy. It often pays to ask in the forum if
you are experiencing translation issues as many Tazbar members speak
different languages and may be able to help.
Payment Options
Tazbar allows you to select a number of accepted payment options. Online
payment services such as Google Checkout or Paypal offer the easiest solution
to international payment however you will need to ensure that you understand
their fees. Escrow is another way of dealing internationally for high value
items. This is a service where the buyer deposits the payment to a third
party service. the item is then sent and on receipt of the item the funds are
released to the seller. Please ensure that the escrow service provider is
reputable, it is clear who is paying the charges and understand that payment
will take longer using this service.
Please do not accept instant money transfers from overseas.
Important notice
If you receive payment for a transaction via online payment services
ensure that you have logged into to your payment service provider account and
check that the payment has arrived. Do not assume that because you have
received an email apparently from the service provider that says you have
been sent funds that it is true. These confirmation emails are easy for
criminals to replicate and constitute a large amount of online fraudulent
activity.
