Where will Alan Smith Go?
Rumours its The Boro or even Pompey?
cheers tony
Hi Tony
Who cares lol Boro are a dead end team so doubt he would want to go there, doubt he would want to go to Pompey too.Maybe Villa will come in with a late bid.
Nick
missing top class football now
it will soon be here
the reds for the premiership again
I have come to the conclusion being the manager of Real Madrid is the worse job in the world. Win the league and still get sacked.
I just read Man Utd are having problems getting a work permit for Anderson as he does not qualify, due to not playing enough international games for Brazil over the past 2 years.Nick
dam ridiculous the home office about this.
Dunga the present Brazilian manager think that Anderson is going to be the worlds best player.
so he may have another 30 international caps in the next 3 years
glad all footballers are not like that!
Some footballers are really nice people, living close to St Marys i have met a few of them and im happy to say they don't have thier head u there a rse ~ often when i take my eldest son to the stadium shop to buy his kit there is players in there and they will talk to him.
Our local pub is The Saints pub and they are always in there having a fab time with the locals.
I'm not into football at all but i can see they are stereotyped, all the ones i have met have been really nice people. Also they dont seem to forget where they come from and how they started.Ok they earn loads of money but thats just the way the football is not the players fault.

Hi Debs
I agree my friends sister married David Platt when he played for Juventus.Even though he was paid a fortune he kept his feet firmly on the ground.Shunned all the nightlife and preferred staying at home with the family.
Brazilian starlet Anderson has been given the go-ahead to join United after being granted a work permit. The 19-year-old's application was initially rejected given his lack of international experience for the Brazilian national team. A club spokesman said: "We are delighted to announce our application for Anderson's work permit has been successful."We look forward to finalising his transfer from FC Porto in the very near future."
Anderson is tipped to be one of Brazil's future stars, a school of thought backed up by an impressive debut earlier this week, and United's appeal overturned the decision. He will now join up with Sir Alex Ferguson's squad after taking a holiday following his participation in the Copa America.
Owen Hargreaves hopes to emulate his success at Bayern Munich with United when he completes his move to Old Trafford.
The England international has agreed a deal to join Sir Alex Ferguson's side after almost a year of speculation and, having claimed countless honours in Germany, is aiming to reap silverware with the Reds.
"I set lots of targets over the last decade and I have also fulfilled them," he told a farewell press conference in Germany. "I expect that to continue.
"A new era is starting for me now and I hope to achieve even more. I don't have any concrete aims, but you have got to win everything at Manchester."
Having spent over 10 years in Germany, Hargreaves was predictably full of praise when reflecting on his time with Bayern.
"I would never have thought that I would move to Germany," he said. "I am very happy that FC Bayern gave me such an opportunity. I wish them all the best. The last 10 years were a dream."
German legend Lothar Matthaus has tipped United to lift next season's UEFA Champions League.
Having regained the Barclays Premier League title in style last season, United will be looking to achieve further success in Europe next term.
Ex-Bayern Munich star Matthaus, for one, can see Sir Alex Ferguson and his squad celebrating after next May's final in Moscow.
"The troops of Sir Alex Ferguson dominated the Premiership and next season surely they will win him another Champions League," the former Bayern and Internazionale midfielder told Bild.
Matthaus, who himself tasted defeat against United with Bayern Munich in 1999's dramatic Champions League final, feels the Reds possess two key attributes which can see them lift the trophy for a third time.
"They have two qualities that no-one can touch," he said. "They're a young team and one that is improving all the time."
Having been crowned a champion in his first season at Old Trafford, Michael Carrick is relishing the challenge of staying at the peak of English football.
The former West Ham and Spurs midfielder joined United last summer, and was delighted to claim the Barclays Premier League title in his first season at Old Trafford.
The first major trophy of his career capped Carrick's ascension through progressively bigger clubs, and he concedes his route has been akin to climbing a ladder.
“Each move was a step up really," he told Inside United. "Although when I first got in the West Ham team we were doing really well and finished seventh that season, going down in 2003 was a big disappointment.
"But to go to Tottenham and to achieve what we did there was a big step up for the club, going so close to getting in the Champions League.
"But then to come here is another level again and there’s nowhere else now! I want to stay here and achieve things here. This is the pinnacle of the game.
"They say the easy part is getting there and the hardest part’s staying there, so I’ve got a big challenge ahead.”
Carrick concedes that a major factor behind his improvement as a player has been down to training and playing with midfield partner Paul Scholes.
“Scholesy has been a massive influence," said Carrick. "Just watching him every day lets you appreciate how good he is.
"If you ask anyone in the game who’s in the know, everyone says how good he is and how hard he is to play against. To have him on your team alongside you is great.

Owen Hargreaves has completed his move to United from Bayern Munich, putting pen to paper on a four-year contract with the Barclays Premier League champions. The England international midfielder, 26, was relieved to officially become a contracted United player after a lengthy transfer saga."It's been a long time coming," Owen exclusively told ManUtd.com. "It was probably the worst-kept secret in football, but it's great to be here."Hargreaves' move to Manchester was mooted by the tabloids for almost a year, following his outstanding displays for England at the 2006 World Cup.Bayern were reluctant to let him leave without a fight, twice rejecting bids before eventually relenting - and Owen is delighted with the end result."I think it's great to finally reach a positive conclusion," he said. "Especially after all the time and energy that's been put in from everyone involved!"
Wayne Rooney is changing his United squad number from 8 to 10 for the forthcoming season and beyond.
To mark the switch, Wayne met probably the club's greatest ever number 10, Denis Law for a special photograph at Carrington.
"When I was offered the chance to wear the number 10 shirt I jumped at it," says Wayne.
"Some of the game's greatest players have become legends wearing number 10, none more so than Denis Law.
"He was crowned King of the Stretford End during his time at the club and it is a great honour for me to wear a shirt that has such history behind it."
Rooney's manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Wayne is a worthy addition to the roll-call of players who've worn the iconic red shirt.
"There have been some wonderful footballers who have worn the Manchester United number 10 shirt," says Sir Alex.
"These men have captured the imagination of our fans around the world with their skill and their goals. Wayne is the right man to carry on that tradition and I'm delighted that Denis Law was able to pass on the mantle."
United have yet to confirm who will replace Rooney at number 8, or which numbers will be worn by new signings Nani, Anderson and Owen Hargreaves.
A giant image of the team in the new Nike-produced kit adorns the East Stand window at Old Trafford. The players will wear it for the first time during their first match of their Asia Tour against Urawa Red Diamonds in Japan later this month. The front of the new home shirt features an engineered mesh pattern inspired by the architecture of Old Trafford and the contours of the body. On the back a flash of white tape frames the name and number with a fine black stripe, MUFC and the Red Devil emblem inside. As a final touch there is a label with the Red Devil emblem and the nickname 'The Red Devils.' White shorts and black socks complete the kit.It has been made using Nike Dri-FIT fabric which helps transport moisture away from the skin to the fabric’s surface for rapid evaporation, keeping the players comfortable for longer. It's already a popular design with the squad and they believe the fans will be equally impressed."It’s very important to feel comfortable when you’re playing and hopefully this kit will be a good one for us in all types of weather conditions," Wayne Rooney told ManUtd.com."It’s quite simple and traditional which is the way I like the kits to be," added skipper Gary Neville. "I’m sure the fans will like it."Fans should visit myspace.com/manutd to see more images and a behind-the-scenes video from the kit shoot with the players. Supporters can post their views on the kit and also win a signed shirt.
