redtony: Now the cup final on saturday in the new wembly man.utd. v chelsea suppose there might be be a north-south divide . BTW if its the best 3 from London are Arsenal and Chelsea and Spurs(combine everything they have won) but a big shortfall compared to the 2 northern teams of Liverpool and Man.Utd. (there total winnings) cheers tony. come on the red devils

Hi Tony
I cannot say i hate Man Utd but i am rather jealous of there success. What hope do i have being a Brighton fan?Mind you we should of beat you in the first game of the cup final but of course the replay was disasterous for us.
Cheers Nick
just remind of that score ,i,m guessing 3-3 first game.
Then the following thursday 4-0 to united.
I had a ticket for the first game .Had to sell at face value.
reason was taking an exam.
could have got a ticket over easy for replay.
could not be bothered.
i have actually been to the cup final with united with these games:-
1977 v Liverpool won
1979? Arsenal lost
1983 or 1985 Everton won
!994?Crystal Palace won after replay
2005 Arsenal Lost on penalties
Then in Cup Winners Cup in Rotterdam 1991 beat Barcelonia 2-1 i think
well its not so far away for the cup final
come on the reds
REF.whos going to the cup final.
i know united are going
Well i,m going to guess the United team.
its a problem because i,m not fergie
val de sar
heinz
brown
fedinand
vidich
carrick
scoles
giggs
fletcher
rooney
ronaldo
its a shame that alan smith is not in my team.
but fergie might have smithy in at the expense of darren fletcher .
with john oshea coming on for anybody
rip out Wembly
Well - going back to the title of the thread. I have always hated Man U. Ever since the cup final back in the 80's where they drew with Brighton in the first match, then beat us 4-0 in the replay.
I was at both. I've never managed to forgive Man U for Norman Whiteside stamping on Chris Ramseys leg in the first game.
Ok.... that may sound petty - but us Brighton fans have had to put up with a lot over the years - and we don't forgive easily
When I moved away from the South Coast - I moved to London and for the last 5 years in the UK lived not far from Chelsea. So - used to go watch them or Fulham as my local teams. So - even though I'm 4500 miles away now - and watched todays game in a bar full of Man U fans - I was very happy with today's result!
Thought marginally United were the better team in what was a poor game.
Dreaded going to Penalty shootout .(thought chelsea would win in the shootout.
Thought Wayne Rooney was the best player.
Still we won the Premier.(hope we can win in the next 2 years as well.
Powerful Mind Games?
and Fergies still making excuses.
whats his mind games then?
dont know of any myself.dont buy newspapers
Hi Indigo
Im originally from Brighton and a lifetime support too,use to go and watch them all the time.Did you use to live in Brighton?Nick
Hey wow!
I lived a little north of Brighton. My dad took me to my first game when I was about 4 (though I really don't remember much about it!) And almost every home match till I was 17/18 and went off to University. I say almost - as the trek to Gillingham kind of killed our almost perfect home match record - we weren't so good when that happened.
After that I was in London and got a bit lazy at treking home to see them. So only really the occasional match after that. Then I ended up in West London - so started watching Fulham/Chelsea - but Brighton will always be *my* team!
It's funny. OH hates football - but indulges me and when he can face it does watch with me sometimes. He's never seen Brighton win and finds it hard to understand why with everything that club has been through - people still go watch.
Was Ryan Giggs goal or no goal over the line.
what does everybody else think
Sorry Tony
Doesn't matter now - Chelsea have the cup
personally think that fergie is after the next 2 premierships.1 or 2 european champions trophy..
we got the premier this year and 3 on the belt would look impressive.
the have won 3 on the trot before as well .
